Sandy Hills Elders Quorum: EQ Bulletin February 2, 2010

Elders and Family,

Stake Conference is this weekend! We have President Samuelson, of BYU, that will be visiting us. This should be a great conference and I’d encourage you to attend. Please remember these meetings:

-Stake Adult Session, 7 PM

-Stake Priesthood Leadership Meeting, 7 AM

-Stake Conference General Session, 10 AM

Our ward has some assignments for clean up after Stake Conference. We are looking for 5 families that would help in the clean up afterwards. We would start cleaning at about 12:15. Please let me know if you and your family would be willing to help!

This year the Elders Quorum Presidency will be emphasizing Family Home Evening and Family Councils. We will be having some activities and visits that center around these with you and your family. I’d like to know if you and your family have the Church’s Family Home Evening Manual? Please let me know. I may just grab some for our quorum to give out. Sandy Hills Elders Quorum Goals Reminder:

1. Pray: 3 times daily individually and with your family

2. READ: Read The Book of Mormon daily

3. MEDITATE: Meditate on those things that you read in The Book of Mormon and prayed about. Put something from your reading into practice daily.

4. ATTEND: Attend your Sacrament Meeting, Sunday School, Elders Quorum, and other Ward activities

5. MINISTER: Minister in your calling as a husband, father, home teacher, or other callings you might have

You’ll be blessed! I can promise that—for sure!

Updates/ Spotlights:

Upcoming Events

-EQ Temple Nights We will continue to have them once monthly. Please note these dates. We will do as many ordiances as we can with the idea in mind to do family names and disperse the quorum doing ordnances throughout the temple—including baptisms, initiatory, endowments, and sealings. Please plan to attend with you and your children that can go. If you can let me know in advance if you and your family are going I will have reservations made for all of you and even have plenty of family file names that you can do while there. Please arrive by 6:30 PM at the Draper Temple as the sessions would start at 7:00 PM. Here are the dates:

-March 18^th 7:00 PM

-April 29^th 7:00 PM

-May 19^th Ward Temple Night, 8:20 PM Endowment Session, must arrive by 7:45 PM. (Tentative)

-May 20^th 7:00 PM
