EQ Bulletin April 21, 2010

Elders and Family,

I’d love it if you’d place on your calendars the EQ Temple Night on April 29th at 7:00 PM at the Draper Temple—and come! Please try and arrive at around 6:30 PM. We plan on doing sealings. If you do plan on attending please let me know.

Here is an update on some of our members:

Tim Weiss- Last evening I got a report from Tami that Tim received a clean bill of health from his doctor on Tuesday. Yeah!

Joe Hatch- Joe is home and doing well.

LaVar Krantz- LaVar is home as well recovering and resting. They are keeping positive attitudes.

Reminders, Upcoming Events and Service Projects

-April 17th Provident Living Workshop: Gardening – This will be on how to vegetable, flower, and pot garden. You are SMART if you come to this one. It’s a winner.

-May 1st Young Women’s Spaghetti Fund Raising Dinner- For a fund raiser this year the YW are doing a fund raiser. The dinner will be one where you and your family can come and purchase tickets for your meals with suggested meal prices. This will be a great way to enjoy a good meal on a Friday night and help support our great Young Women in our ward!

- Stake Book of Mormon Challenge: In our Stake Priesthood Meeting we, as a priesthood body, were challenged to read The Book of Mormon by July 13th alongside the young men in the stake as they prepare for Camp Helaman. Please take note of this challenge!

-May 15th is a Day of Celebration sponsored by our Stake. We will be commemorating and celebrating the railroad that went through our area with the granate rocks that built the Salt Lake Temple. It will be filled with activities, breakfast, a parade for the young kids (to dress up like pioneers and or railway men), and also we will be building humanitarian kits for those that stand in need. Our ward has a specific assignment to collect hand towels. These can be brought to me or to the Tello’s house. We need 500 of them donated for the whole ward. Please if you wouldn’t mind that would be amazing!

-June4-5th—Ward Campout! More information to come!

-June 5th & 6th—Missionary Fireside

-EQ Temple Nights We will continue to have them once monthly. Please note these dates. We will do as many ordinances as we can with the idea in mind to do family names and disperse the quorum doing ordnances throughout the temple—including baptisms, initiatory, endowments, and sealings. Please plan to attend with you and your children that can go. If you can let me know in advance if you and your family are going I will have reservations made for all of you and even have plenty of family file names that you can do while there. Please arrive by 6:30 PM at the Draper Temple as the sessions would start at 7:00 PM. Here are the dates:

            -April 29th 7:00 PM

-May 19th Ward Temple Night, 8:20 PM Endowment Session, must arrive by 7:45 PM. (Tentative)

-May 20th 7:00 PM

2010 EQ Family Focus: This year the Elders Quorum Presidency will be emphasizing Family Home Evening, Fathers Interviews, and Family Councils. We will be having some activities and visits that center around these with you and your family. I’d like to know if you and your family have the Church’s Family Home Evening Manual? Please let me know. I may just grab some for our quorum to give out. Here is a good site for you to review for FHE suggestions:
