EQ Bulletin September 29, 2010

Elders and family,

 

A few highlights for this week in the bulletin:

 

  • General Conference is on Saturday and Sunday. Don’t miss it!
  • The Church publishes some General Conference Handouts for Kids. I think that they are helpful—frankly they entertain me!! Go here: http://new.lds.org/general-conference/children?locale=eng
  • We have EQ Temple Night scheduled two sealing rooms every even month starting in the month of October 2010. The start time would be at 7:00 PM. We can have up to 10 couples fill these rooms. I have coordinated one for October 19th, 2010..The Bishop has requested that the EQ do Temple Nights on the even months. The ward will do something on the odd months of the year.

1.      Pray: 3 times daily individually and with your family

2.      READ: Read The Book of Mormon daily

3.      MEDITATE: Meditate on those things that you read in The Book of Mormon and prayed about. Put something from your reading into practice daily.

4.      ATTEND: Attend your Sacrament Meeting, Sunday School, Elders Quorum, and other Ward activities

5.      MINISTER: Minister in your calling as a husband, father, home teacher, or other callings you might have

We can have up to 10 couples fill these rooms. The Bishop has requested that the EQ do Temple Nights on the even months. The ward will do something on the odd months of the year.

 

 

2010 EQ Family Focus: This year the Elders Quorum Presidency will be emphasizing Family Home Evening, Fathers Interviews, and Family Councils. We will be having some activities and visits that center around these with you and your family. I’d like to know if you and your family have the Church’s Family Home Evening Manual? Please let me know. I may just grab some for our quorum to give out. Here is a good site for you to review for FHE suggestions:

EQ Bulletin September 22, 2010

Elders and family,

 

A few highlights for this week in the bulletin:

 

  • The Primary Program is on Sunday. Make sure you children are there early and ready! Call your child’s Primary Teacher or a member of the Primary Presidency if you have a question.
  • In Gospel Doctrine we start the first week of Isaiah. Don’t be freaked out—just study the lesson and keep up with it. You’ll have a great learning experience. And we all be doing it together! (Lesson 36: The Glory of Zion Will Be a Defense  )
  • We have EQ Temple Night scheduled two sealing rooms every even month starting in the month of October 2010. The start time would be at 7:00 PM. We can have up to 10 couples fill these rooms. I will come back with dates for November – April 2011 next week. I’m currently waiting on the Temple Recorder to call to set up consistent appointments. Likely we will alternate between Tuesday & Thursday evenings.
